Bassam, Vice President and Managing Director of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) stressed that the agreements that have been signed today comes in the context of the aid package with which the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered to provide Egypt, amounting to $ 4 billion to support the Egyptian economy after the January 25 revolution. He noted the Kingdom's keenness to support the Egyptian economy during the current stage and that an Egyptian-Saudi committee was formed to follow up what was agreed upon. At the same time, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan said in a statement after the signing that what matters Saudi Arabia is the security and independence of Egypt in recognition of the importance of Egypt to the Arab world.
