On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah region led the ceremonial washing of the Holy Ka'aba today morning, using Zamzam water mixed with rose water. The ceremony was attended by a large number of prominent figures, including Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the presidency for the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and Dr. Mohammed Al-Khozaim, deputy head of the presidency for the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. After leading the ceremony, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal performed circumambulation (Tawaf) of Islam's holiest shrine and performed Sunna prayer. Several dignitaries, including government officials, prominent Islamic scholars, and members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attended the ceremony. A large number of citizens and pilgrims were also present on the occasion.
