The Vice President-General of the Holy Mosque of Makkah Affairs Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Khozaim commended the Saudi Leadership for its attention to and care of the Holy Kaaba and Two Holy Mosques, stressing that washing of Kaaba embodies its interest in the Holy Mosque of Makkah. He affirmed that this patronage of washing ceremony comes as an extension of the Saudi leadership's care of the Two Holy Mosques and their affairs. Dr. Al-Khozaim pointed out that the washing of Kaaba is Sunnah when Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) gained victory against unbelievers in Makkah and washed Kaaba for cleansing it from their vices, noting that washing Kaaba has been pursued by the Saudi Government twice a year, once in Shaaban month and the other in Muharram.
