AlHijjah 26, 1433, Nov 11, 2012, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has received the license to build the new headquarters of the organization in the city of Jeddah. Prof. Ihsanoglu met Mayor of Jeddah Dr. Hani Bin Mohammed Abu Ras in his office in Jeddah. During the meeting, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received the building permit for the new Jeddah-based headquarters, which is located on a building area of up to 40,000 square meters. Prof. Ihsanoglu and Dr. Abu Ras were briefed on the details of the building components and specifications. The OIC Secretary General expressed his thanks and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for gifting this important landmark to the Muslim world and for supporting the OIC. The organization signed the Headquarters Agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (the host country) on the sidelines of the fourth extraordinary Makkah summit on August 13, 2012.
