AlHijjah 4, 1433, Oct 20, 2012, SPA -- Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabee'a, Minister of Health, said today that health situation in Hajj areas is reassuring so far. Speaking at a meeting of the health committees in charge of the overall health situation in Hajj areas, he expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by health and medical authorities to protect pilgrims from the spread of any epidemic. He gave an account on the vaccinations given to pilgrims coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria as well as from the African belt. He said the Ministry has equipped and made ready 25 hospitals in Makkah, Al-Madinah, Mina, Arafat, with a total capacity of 5250 beds, 141 health centers in Makkah, holy places of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, and 16000 blood units of different types. After passing experiments last year, evacuation planes could now land and take off easily at the hospitals of Hiraa, Al-Noor, Arafat and Mina, he concluded.
