AlQa'dah 18, 1433, Oct 4, 2012, SPA -- The storm formerly known as Tropical Storm Nadine has dissolved after wandering for more than 21 days, missing the Atlantic Ocean longevity record, U.S. forecasters said. The National Hurricane Center in Miami issued its final bulletin for Nadine early Thursday. The storm tied 1971's Ginger for second place on the list of longest-lasting storms of at least tropical-storm strength. The record is held by an unnamed storm from 1899, which had lasted for nearly 28 days. Nadine mostly spun harmlessly far from land. Its remnants had winds of about 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the Azores Islands east of Portugal on Thursday. The storm never threatened the Caribbean Sea or the eastern United States.
