AlQa'dah 16, 1433, Oct 2, 2012, SPA -- A tropical-storm warning was in effect for the Azores Islands on Tuesday as Tropical Storm Nadine swirled in the Atlantic Ocean, U.S. forecasters said. Nadine, with maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour (kph), was about 1,000 kilometers west-southwest of the Azores, moving east-southeast at 11 kph, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said in its morning advisory. Nadine, whose tropical storm-force winds extended outward from center up to 185 kilometers, was expected to produce between 2.5 and 5 centimeters of rain over parts of the Azores through Thursday, forecasters said. The storm was expected to turn to the east on Tuesday before shifting toward the northeast Wednesday with an increase in forward speed, the NHC said. The storm is expected to weaken during the next two days.
