AlQa'dah 15, 1433, Oct 1, 2012, SPA -- Hurricane Nadine slowly weakened as it moved in the Atlantic Ocean on Monday, hundreds of kilometers off the Azores Islands, U.S. forecasters said. Nadine, a category-1 hurricane with sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph), was about 1,100 kilometers west of the Azores, moving south at nearly 10 kph, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said in its morning advisory. Nadine was expected to shift to the southeast later Monday before turning east on Tuesday and slowly weakening, the NHC said. Hurricane-force winds extended outward from the storm's center up to 55 kilometers, and tropical storm-force winds extended up to 200 kilometers.
