AlQa'dah 14, 1433, Sep 30, 2012, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist explosions in the capital, Baghdad, and other Iraqi provinces today, killing and wounding many innocent victims. In a statement issued today, the Secretary General conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished them quick recovery. He also called on all Iraqi political blocs to shun their differences and put the national interest first, steer the country towards stability and security and maintain national unity. The OIC Secretary General urged all sections of the Iraqi people to exercise self-control and challenge acts which seek to cause turmoil among Iraqi sects. He emphasized the importance of and the need to adhere to the 2006 Makkah Document sponsored by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to eschew violence and extremism.
