US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday on the second day of her visit to the south-east Asian nation. They discussed the conflict in Syria and the controversial Iranian nuclear programme among other issues, Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said. "Secretary (Hillary) Clinton expressed concerns that the situation in Syria could escalate in such a way that it could create instability in the Middle East in general," Natalegawa was quoted as saying by dpa. Indonesia is Hillary Clinton's second stop after the Cook Islands. Her trip also includes visits to China, East Timor, Brunei and Russia, where she is due to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Vladivostok.
