Japanese shares inched down Wednesday as sentiment was hurt by losses on other Asian bourses and investors sold stocks to lock in profits after recent gains. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 4.84 points, or 0.05 per cent, to end at 8,925.04, after gaining 0.5 per cent on Tuesday. The broader-based Topix index was down 2.21 points, or 0.29 per cent, at 747.32, according to a report of DPA.
