Spanish police said Tuesday they had discovered a marijuana plantation which they described as the biggest in Europe, dpa reported. The plantation in the village of Lliber, near Alicante, comprised 10,000 cannabis plants in 16 greenhouses. The greenhouses had equipment absorbing the smell of the plants to help prevent them from being discovered. Police detained a 45-year-old Briton and a 18-year-old Spaniard. They also seized 43 kilograms of marijuana, which was believed to be destined for the Dutch and Belgian markets.
