Spanish police have seized 2.5 million euros (3.3 million dollars) in forged banknotes, detaining 27 people, police sources said Wednesday. The detainees were held in Madrid, the central region of Castile La Mancha and in northeastern Catalonia. The forgery was the biggest discovered in Spain since the introduction of the euro. Police confiscated printing equipment and 16 firearms.
