The Joint Ministerial Meeting between member countries of The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU) concluded its 22nd session here yesterday. On the GCC side, the meeting was chaired by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudia Arabia and the Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, with the participation of Foreign Ministers of GCC and European Union states, and GCC Secretary General, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. The European side was headed by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton. In a joint statement, the Foreign Ministers commended the achievements of the joint action program for the period 2010-2013 in financial, economic and monetary fields, trade, industry, energy, nuclear safety, environment, combating money-laundering and terrorist financing, patents and intellectual property protection. --MORE
