Khalid Al-Hamd Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the results of his visit to Baghdad at the head of his country's delegation in the meetings of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi Joint Supreme Committee on 29/4/2012. The Council considered the visit as a serious step toward finding solutions to all outstanding problems between the two countries, stressing the need for Iraq to implement all the commitments in this regard and translate them on the ground. It also stressed the need for Iraq to complete the implementation of all UN Security Council relevant resolutions, including the completion of the issue of protecting the border markers in implementation of resolution 833, and the completion of the issue of compensation of Iraqi farmers in implementation of resolution 899. The Council calls for Iraq to accelerate the implementation of these resolutions, and to identify the remaining prisoners and missing citizens of the State of Kuwait and other citizens of other countries, and the return of property and the National Archives of the State of Kuwait. It urged the United Nations and other relevant bodies to continue their valuable efforts to meet those commitments. --More
