A magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit northern Argentina early Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said. The earthquake was centered 38 kilometers east-southeast of Suncho Corral in Santiago del Estero province, which lies roughly 1,014 kilometers northwest of the capital Buenos Aires. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
