LuLu Hypermarket's Philippine Food Festival 2015 captivates enthusiasts

On the occasion of LuLu ‘Filipino Fun & Food Festival 2015' at LuLu Hypermarket in Murabba on Oct. 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., Eric C. Arribas, first secretary & consul general, Embassy of the Philippines In Saudi Arabia, inaugurates the festival. Beside him are LuLu officials Shehim Mohammed - regional director, Abdul Saleem V.K. - regional manager, Shafeek Rahman -commercial manager, and Abdullah Al Enaizi - public relations manager.


THE ongoing 10-day ‘Filipino Fun & Food Festival 2015 launched by the regional retail major LuLu Saudi Hypermarket starting Oct. 1, 2015 in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia, is attracting multitude of food lovers and enthusiasts.
Eric C. Arribas, First Secretary & Consul General, Embassy of the Republic of Philippines and Dayang Dayang Sitti Kaushar G. Jaafar, Labor Attaché, Eastern Region were the chief guests in Riyadh and Al-Khobar respectively who inaugurated the Festival in the presence of LuLu regional managements in Riyadh & Al-Khobar and a large gathering of patrons, well-wishers and senior company officials.
The inauguration was held at 11:00 a.m. at LuLu, Murabba, Riyadh outlet. The festival is showcasing some of the finest goods and food items from the Philippines, including groceries and frozen foods, also offering freshly prepared traditional Philippine cuisines at the hot food counters.
The Filipino festival provides shoppers with an opportunity to acquaint themselves with Philippine products and to experience the multiple ethnicity and cultural diversity of more than 7,000 islands that together make up the Philippines archipelago.
Authentic flavors from the Philippines will be prepared by LuLu chef, who is preparing a wide variety of different authentic Filipino dishes such as Kare Kare, Adobo, Pinakbet, Bulalo, Sinigang, Caldreta and variety of sweets like Pitchy Pitchy, Puto Pao, Buko Pie, Cassava Cakes, Sapin-Sapin, Ginatang Mais presented in a traditional way.
The highlight of the festival will be the live cooking demonstration by Mama Sita, the leading Filipino brand, in all LuLu outlets across the Kingdom.
Product ranges like Filipino bananas and pineapples, milk fish, dried fish and many more area widely available in our hypermarkets.
Practically all kind of Filipino products will be available on attractive prices under the roof of LuLu. As part of this event, LuLu will conduct Raffle Draw “Win 20 Air Tickets to Philippines” for its customers and the free tickets will be handed over to lucky winners of the draw which will be conducted at the end of the festival.
A Quiz competition for kids will be conducted at Filipino schools in Riyadh and the winners will get gift items.
