JEDDAH — Ilyas of Mercedes Benz hit a ton, while Shafaqat of MFCC and Owaiz Afzal of Universal Cool & Cool excelled with the ball, grabbing five wickets each in the SCC Morning T20 Tournament which is sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) and organized by WPCA.
MFCC, Arcoma, Crown Blue, Mercedes Benz, GBest IDB, Universal Cool & Cool, Al-Mazroi-XI and Cousin-XI defeated their rivals during the week's matches.
MFCC thrashed Emper Perfumes by 8 wickets. Emper Perfumes was bowled out for 109. Abdulrahim made 28 and Kashif 41. Shafaqat grabbed 5 for 19 and Essam 2. MFCC earned victory (112 for 2) in 69 balls as Imran Rana stroked 47 and Farhan Chaudhry 35.
In its debut match Arcoma trounced Hanifa Tigers by 6 wickets. Hanifa Tigers posted 125 for 8 with Abbas Nadwi scoring 31 and Kashif 24. Mujtaba took 2-34. Arcoma reached 126 for 4 in 89 balls as Kaleem hit 59 and Shareef 24.
Crown Blue won against Royal Brothers by 5 wickets. Royal Brothers were bundled out for 67 as Qurban scalped 3 for 15, Saqib Butt 2-9 and Iftikhar 2-16. Crown Blue, in response, reached 71 in 66 balls with 5 wickets in hand. Iftikhar remained unbeaten on 17. Hamid Khan took 2-31.
Mercedes Benz won against Zamil Cool Care by 24 runs. Mercedes Benz produced 172 for 5 as Ilyas blasted unbeaten 107 in 57 balls with 2 sixes and 11 fours.
He added 69 in 32 balls with Amrat (24). Imtiyaz claimed 2-30. Zamil Cool Care, in reply, was left stranded at 148 for 5. Tahir scored 75 in 40 balls with 2 sixes and 8 boundaries. Rashad took 3-42.
GBest IDB defeated Star-XI by 9 wickets. Star-XI was restricted to 105 as Mohammed Alam grabbed 4 for 19 and Aleem 3 for 1. GBest IDB, in reply, got to 111 for 1 in 62 balls. Rayees scored 26. He added 76 with Jafar, who remained unbeaten on 45. Fakhar compiled an unbeaten 25.
Universal Cool & Cool humbled Sadafco by 59 runs. Universal Cool & Cool produced 130. Bilal hit 35 and Ahmed 27. Iqbal Patel took 3 for 19. Sadafco, in chase, crashed for just 71 against some accurate bowling by skipper Owaiz Afzal (5 for 12), Ahsan (3 for 20) and Tariq Siddiqui (2-21). Saqib battled alone with 22.
Al-Mazroi got the better of Jeddah Tigers by 60 runs. Al-Mazroi-XI racked up a huge 204 for 2, thanks to Farhan Patel who hammered an unbeaten 82, studded with 10 hits to the ropes.
Mohsin compiled 28 and the duo added 101 in 62 balls for the opening stand. Faisal Patel retired hurt for 64 with 5 sixes and 2 fours. Abdullah claimed 1-20.
Jeddah Tigers replied with 144 for 8. Abdullah scored 51 in 38 balls, Waseem 22 and Kashif 19. Saqib grabbed 3 for 13, Sohail 2-18 and Faisal 2-23.
Cousin-XI surprised the Modern Pioneer Champions Toyota by 32 runs. Cousin-XI piled up 143 for 5. Haider remained unbeaten on 44 and Haroon hit 20. Arif took 3 for 18.
In reply, ALJ Toyota was bundled out for 111 as Shahid grabbed 4 for 6 in 10 balls and Aqeel took 3 for 26. Tanveer scored 20, Basheer 25 and Adeel 25.
