JAZAN — The municipality has shut down three bakeries in Jazan for a number of health violations, including bags of flour contaminated with insects. Jazan Municipality's environmental health director, Nasser Al-Mubaraki, said the municipality in Al-Aridhah Governorate made the discoveries during an inspection campaign on Friday. The municipality seized several unsanitary baking utensils and recorded a number of violations. The employees at some of the bakeries were using tools not suitable for cooking, such as using drills to open packages. The municipality also seized 12 bags of flour that contained insects. One bakery was found selling half a kilogram of bread for double the regulated price.
