ALJ to test Tata in Morning final

JEDDAH — ALJ Toyota defeated Ralco and Tata Motors upset Al-Saudi-XI in the semifinals of the Modern Pioneer Morning Summer Cup sponsored by Modern Pioneer Company and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
In the first semifinal, Ralco was bowled out for 125. Tanweer made 42, Mohsin 43 and Naeem 15. Arif claimed 2-20, Zahid 2-37, while one wicket each went to Azeem and Bilal.
ALJ Toyota, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals but it managed to reach the winning target (127-7) in 86 balls. Basheer hit 41 and Imran 15 not out. Irshad took 3 for 40 whereas a scalp each was claimed by Jahangir, Arsalan, Mohsin and Tanweer.
The match was supervised by Mohammed Saleem and Zafar.
In the second semis, Tata Motors piled up 167 for 9 through Suleman (24), Faisal Shahzad (54 in 19 balls) and Faisal Lateef (32). Sajid grabbed 4 for 15, Mazhar Abbasi 3 for 13, while Adil and Nadeem Saad claimed one each. Humayun of Al-Saudi-XI had 5 victims behind the stumps.
Al-Saudi-XI, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals with only resistance came from Mazhar Abbasi (45) and Humayun (32). It was bundled out for 136.
The match was umpired by Arshad Chohan and Imran.
SCC Morning Cup
Six matches were played in the first week of the SCC Morning Cup 2015, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center. Hanifa Tigers, Kabbani Cricket Group, New Young Stars, Stallions, Brasa De Brazil and Cousin-XI recorded victories.
Hanifa Tigers won against Rising Stars by 8 wickets. Rising Stars posted 154-7 through Asim (36), Naseer (29) and Naeem (32). Usman claimed 3-29. Hanifa Tigers reached 155 in 80 balls with 8 wickets to spare. Abbas hit 37 and Kashif top scored with 70 off 27 balls with 7 sixes and 3 fours.
Kabbani Cricket Group had the last laugh against Gujarat Eagles by 8 runs. Kabbani was bundled out for just 90 as Mukhtar grabbed 6-18. Khaleel top scored with 20. Ajmal took 2-32. Gujarat Eagles, in reply, was restricted to 82 as Luqman Ulfat took 3 for 11 and Asad 2.
New Young Stars trounced Inma Cricket Club by 10 wickets. Inma on its debut was bundled out for 74. Nadeem scored 20 and Sathish 14. Abrar took 3-17, Majid 2-8 and Imran 2-15. New Young Stars chased successfully making 75 for no loss in 36 balls. Nazeer hit 24 and Abdullah 43.
Stallions had the better of Royal Brothers by 8 wickets. Royal Brothers was restricted to 195-9. Haneef made 22 and Waqar 20. Hassan Ali took 3-13, Waqas 2-16 and Abdullah 2-24.
Stallions, in chase, got to 106-2 in 63 balls as Danish smashed an unbeaten 72 in 24 balls with 9 sixes and 2 fours, while Hassan was unbeaten 18.
Brasa De Brazil downed ADI-XI by 8 wickets. ADI-XI was bowled out for 121. Farhan made 35 and Ahmed 21. Bilal took 4-20, Umair 3-15 and Waseem 2-13. Brasa De Brazil reached 122-2 in 66 balls as Nauman hit 25, Faizee 29 and Bilal unbeaten on 43.
Cousins-XI had the last laugh against Jeddah Tigers by 6 wickets. Jeddah Tigers tallied 140-9. Fahad scored an unbeaten 26 and Khaliq 21. Naveed Qamar scalped 5-17 and Aqeel 2-26. Cousins-XI got to 141-4 in 76 balls. Aqeel made 24, Naveed Qamar 33 and Khurram 35.
