JEDDAH — A Saudi man was sentenced to 10 years in prison and banned from travel for the same amount of time after his release for being involved in terrorist acts. The directorate said the man forged official documents and used his brother's passport and ID to travel from Saudi Arabia to Turkey. It was also reported that he had purchased weaponry and ammunition and trained on using them. He exchanged Skype messages with his cousin planning his travel to Syria and pledged allegiance to Daesh (the so-called IS). He gave his brother a fake Turkish ID so he could travel to Syria with him. The penal court also fined him SR2,000 for forging travel documents.
