RIYADH — A Saudi man was sentenced to death for being involved in terrorism acts. Riyadh Penal Court reported the convict was initially sentenced to 35 years in prison, fined SR10,000 and banned from travel for 35 years. The man was found guilty of shooting innocent people and police officers, stealing a vehicle, threatening to bomb a location, escaping to Afghanistan and training at Al-Qaeda camps, forging official documents, planning assassinations and possessing illegal weapons. The court deemed a death sentence more appropriate for his crimes. The convict has 30 days to submit an appeal.
