MADINAH — Students at Al-Ula Girls School in the village of Al-Shalayil skipped classes due to alleged sightings of jinn, Al-Hayat reported. Madinah Education Affairs spokesman Omar Barnawi said the directorate formed a specialized committee to investigate the rumors. He said: “Parents complained to us that their daughters were possessed by jinn or they were petrified after seeing their classmates convulse and contort unnaturally. “We had to suspend the school for a few days and call for sheikhs and exorcists to assess the situation.” He added the school tried to control the situation before contacting the directorate but the students were terrified and would not return to school. “The matter has escalated and people are demanding a solution through a Twitter hashtag about the school. “The public is concerned for the students' safety and have demanded the Ministry of Education relocate the school as soon as possible.”
