MADINAH — Many intermediate and secondary school students complained that they were not able to access their exam results on line, according to a local daily. The Ministry of Education has setup the “Noor” website that publishes all exams results. Some ministry officials had told the media that there were 150,000 students who failed their exams. This caused a stampede of students and parents to log onto the website to obtain the results. This rush has apparently caused the system to crash. Spokesman for the Education Directorate in Madinah Omar Barnawi said that the directorate received many complaints, and has referred these complaints to the ministry, as it controls the site. Some schools have printed the results and posted them in the school. Other schools, however, did not print the exam results, claiming that the ministry's decision is not to print the results. Many students have lined at electronic services centers to log onto the “Noor” system. This created a black market, where such centers charged SR10 for a failed login attempt, and SR25 for a successful one and a printout of grades. — SG
