JEDDAH — Nine matches were played in the Modern Pioneer Summer Cup, which is being sponsored by Modern Pioneer Company and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) here.
Awesome-XI lost to SFCC by 5 wickets. Awesome-XI posted 139-5 as Usman made 30, Mujahid 20 and Waseem unbeaten 34. Saad scalped 2-33. SFCC chased 141-5 in 72 balls.
Arsalan smashed 52 in 36 balls, Fahad 25 and Tariq Siddiqui unbeaten 35. Sameer claimed 3-25. Universal-XI won against New Young Stars by 6 wickets.
New Young Stars, current champion of the Morning tourney, managed 131 through Qasim (46) and Nazeer (24). Rashid grabbed 4-7, Ahsan 3-27 and Shakeel 2-25.
Universal-XI reached 132-4 in 101 balls as Asad Malik slammed 51 in 44 balls and Bilal made 64 in 42 balls. Imran claimed 2-31.
Royal Brothers routed Haneefa Tigers by 78 runs. Royal Brothers piled up 196-4 as Abdullah Khan scored 45 and Waqar compiled 63 in 32 balls. Shoaib remained unbeaten on 34.
Haneefa Tigers, in reply, managed 118-7. Omair hit 30 and Omar Shareef 22. Omar claimed 2-4. Stallions had the last laugh against Rising Stars by 50 runs.
Stallions produced 184-5. Arsalan made 38 and Abdulraheem unbeaten 30. Irfan scalped 3-34 and Imran 2-32. Rising Stars was restricted to 134-9.
Abdulwahab scored 24 and Arshad 37 not out. Jawwad took 3-17 and Waqas 2-33. Tata Motors defeated Nesma Holding. Irfan Qureshi made 29 and Suleman 36 for Tata Motors.
Al-Saudi-XI crushed Jeddah Royals by 7 wickets. Jeddah Royals was bundled out for 94 as Munzir grabbed 4-20, Mazhar 2-4 and Kausar 2-11. Azhar top scored with 21.
Al-Saudi-XI reached 97-3 in 71 balls. Nadeem Saad blasted 40 and Mazhar Abbasi remained unbeaten on 46. Shoaib took 2-14.
ALJ Toyota won against Rehab Riders by 18 runs. ALJ Toyota tallied 135. Zahid scored 50 in 29 balls. Naseer scalped 3-20, Maqsood 3-35 and Zafir 2-4.
Rehab Riders, in chase, was stranded at 117-9. Ahmed was run out for 28 and Rana made 19. Bilal took 3-27 and Tanveer Zamane 2-16.
In the last match of the day, Al-Kabbani Cricket Group thrashed Star-XI by 88 runs. Al-Kabbani plundered 208 for 7 as Luqman remained unbeaten on 72 off 37 balls and Faisal Qayyum hit 48. Shamsuddin took 3-22.
Star-XI was bundled out for 120. Umair top scored with 23 and Shamsuddin made 20. Rehan took 3-22, Asad 3-24 and Sadiq 2-17.
