Shoaib and Shahnawaz dazzle in WPCA Pioneer

JEDDAH — Shoaib of Crown Steel and Shahnawaz of UCC excelled in the Summer Tournament sponsored by Pioneer and managed by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) here recently.
Premier Pioneer Summer
Crown Steel thrashed Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 10 wickets. Al-Ghamdi was restricted to 155 for 6 as Ali made 23, Aqeel 35, Nadeem Shah 18 and Sufiyan 33. Shoaib Ali claimed 2-28, Waqas Ausaf 2-17, while a wicket each went to Ijaz and Gulam Riyaz.
Crown Steel achieved the winning target of 157 for no loss in 56 balls. Imran smashed an unbeaten 76 in 26 balls with 4 sixes and 11 fours and Shoaib Ali compiled 76 not out off 32 balls with 2 sixes and 12 fours.
In another match AOT downed Hala Friends by 8 wickets. Hala Friends was bowled out for 169 with Hassan Malik scoring 23, Abdullah 20 and Waqas 33. Imran Yusuf took 3-25, Qasem 2-41, while a wicket each went to Aqeel, Naeem Shah and Ilyas.
AOT reached 172 for 2 in 100 balls as Naeem Shah slammed an unbeaten 80 in 42 balls and Ilyas stroked 51 in 27 balls. The two added 98 in 54 balls for the first wicket. Aqeel added 22. Waqas and Samer were among the wickets.
Afternoon Pioneer Summer
In the first match, UCC defeated Marine Services by 21 runs. UCC piled up 193 for 5. Shahnawaz blasted an unbeaten 100 in 61 balls studded with 2 sixes and 10 fours as he added 65 runs for the 3rd wicket with Qassim (36). Irfan Ghulam contributed 32. Shakeel and Nasser claimed 2 wickets each. Marine Services, in reply, was left stranded at 172. AH Majed scored 52 and Riaz 48. Shahnawaz and Aamir bagged 2 wickets each.
Hala Academy White thrashed Contraco by 23 runs. Hala White produced 160 for 7, thanks to Aamir Sajjad (38) and Liaqat (33 not out). Amjad claimed 2 scalps. Contraco was restricted to 137 for 4 despite a fine start by Khurram 44 and Shahbaz 38. Ibrahim Mirza took 2 wickets.
Elaf Advance crushed NAI Juffali by 124 runs. Elaf Advance racked up 185 for 7 as Hasnain hit 64 in 40 balls and Ehtesham 35. Basit added 19. Farzand claimed 3-34 and Kafie 3-35. NAI Juffali, in reply, crashed for just 61 with only Sardar making 20 and Asad 15. Wasif, Hasnain and Yasir took 2 wickets each.
AOT Youngsters downed AMI Juffali by 30 runs. AOT Youngsters piled up 169 for 3 with Gulam Hasnain Malik making 79, Aman 25 and Pervez Baig 42 not out. Shehzad had 2 scalps. AMI Juffali was bowled out for 139 as Rafi Gujjar added 34, Nadeem 34 and Shehzad 20. Gulam Hasnain Malik grabbed 4-17 and Moiz 3-16.
Zultrack had the last laugh against Jotun Paints by 5 wickets. Jotun Paints managed 178 for 7 through Shabbir (77), Shafiq (22) and Mazhar (14). Imran and Usman Gulab accounted for two wickets each. Zultrack reached 182 for 5 as Usman Gulab smashed 74, Omer Mukhtar 42 and Qaim Khan 30 not out.
Azizya Elegant defeated Brasa de Brazil by 6 wickets.
Waqas Malik-XI downed MCC by 62 runs. Waqas Malik racked up 187 for 4. Waqas Malik (57), Haroon Rana (42) and Azhar (55) were among the runs. Imran took 2 wickets. MCC could score only 125 for 8. Hamid Khan made 39, Imran 20 and Naeem 16. Azahr claimed 3-9 and Haroon Rana 3-23.
