Fahmi, consul for trade and social development, and Agarwal, second secretary at the Indian Embassy, are also present. — SG photo Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — A delegation of 35 members that includes 15 Saudi nationals and many Indian professionals will participate from the Kingdom in global Exhibition on Services organized by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and industry in association with Confederation of Indian industry (CII). This three-day global exhibition is to be held in New Delhi from April 23-25 with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the show. While addressing to press conference at the Indian Consulate General, Consul General B. S. Mubarak said, “This is for the first time in India that such an event on services is happening. These services are the backbone of our economy, for more than 50% of our GDP comes from services mainly from IT sector. This exhibition will showcase on all the services sector like IT, telecom, tourism, media and entertainment, health care, logistics, professional services, education, small and medium enterprises, research & development and space and should be a veritable platform of knowledge about what India can offer to the delegation.” Especially when it comes to Saudi Arabia and after the Nitaqat with many of the jobs being outsourced now. Not only engineering and business but also many IT-related jobs are also being outsourced. Saudis are also keen to know more about India and are interested in getting in touch with partners in many sectors including health care sector.” Mubarak said the exhibition would provide required elements for enhancing Indo-Saudi cooperation, especially in the field of services. “As India is very strong in services, especially in the IT sector, through the Saudi India Business Network (SIBN), we are sending a delegation to India. These 35 members that includes 15 Saudi nationals and Indian professionals will have business-to-business meeting with key people in India,” he said. “The CII will arrange those meetings; they are all going there to find partners who can establish joint ventures or set up businesses in India or over here. The delegates from the Kingdom are taking part in the exhibition with the support of SIBN,” Mubarak said. Haridas, GES representative, F. R. H. The main objective of the global exhibition on services is to create a global platform for increased trade in services. More than 40 countries will participate in the exhibition. Cultural evening, sectorial and regional seminars and food festival will also feature in the exhibition.
