RIYADH — The coalition forces have achieved big success in the first phase of the ‘Decisive Storm Operation' and would continue with the next phase in which there will be a focus on preventing all sorts of operational movement of the Houthi militias as well as on protecting civilian lives. Addressing the media persons on the 25th day of the operation, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Asiri, spokesman of the coalition forces and adviser at the office of the minister of defense, said that the coalition forces have so far made 2,300 air sorties that were instrumental in destroying several targets of Houthis and their allies. He said the security situation in Aden has improved and the southern city is now semi-stable. “The popular committees are now carrying out raids on houses in the city to seize weapons hidden by Houthis after finding that the militia converted several houses into weapon depots. There are also airstrikes targeting arms and ammunition stored in houses, farms, caves and playgrounds,” he said. Asiri said the coalition forces have achieved air and sea supremacy and were capable to obstruct the movement of the Houthi militias.
“The coming phase of the operation would also focus on reinforcing and facilitating evacuation and relief operation,” he said, adding that ballistic missile stores in Sanaa, Houthi targets in Saada and An-Anad base were hit with 106 air sorties in 24 hours.
