Al-Hayat Hospital shines in Mandoubiyah Basketball Tournament

JEDDAH — Al-Hayat Hospital of coach Rey Maddatu edged Erfan Hospital 73-71 at Khalidia basketball court here recently.
Al-Hayat players applied tough defense at crunch times with the scores tied at 71. Mon Parto managed to steal the ball and managed to put Al-Hayat Hospital in the driver's seat. Erfan depended on its big man Japson for its final offense but the ball bounced off the rim. Joson Mike had 15 points for the winner. He was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game and won a Tony Parker jersey courtesy PEAK. Zapanta scored 29 points for the losing side.
The tournament is primarily sponsored by Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office with co-sponsors PEAK Sodas Sports and Shoe Arena, ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel and Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi).
SGH–Blazers of Imet Villanueva defeated Friday Club 101-73. SGH played excellent offense in the final quarter as Friday Club committed fouls in the dying minutes of the game. Tyron Razon chipped in with 18 points for the winner as he was adjudged PEAK Sodas Sports Player of the Game. He also received a Tony Parker jersey courtesy of PEAK. Amores top scored with 17 points for the losers.
GNP–Asnan Est. of coach Ronnie Carino scored a 109-58 win over Bakhsh Hospital. GNP was unstoppable in its offense. Bakhsh defense tried hard to contain the rival players but in vain. Garcia contributed 26 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. He was also given a Tony Parker jersey courtesy of PEAK. Veteran Noel Quito ntetted 17 points for the losers.
