Netjets Middle East defeated Tetra Pak 75-71 in the knock-out game for third place in the Inter-company division of the JBL-Titan Basketball Tournament at the Bin Mafouz basketball court here.
It was a high intensity game between the two clubs. Tetra Pak executed its inside games with high precision while Netjets Middle East main man Richard Novilunio came out with clutch baskets in the third quarter. Coach Boy Parto of Netjets changed the strategy as Tetra Pak was in foul trouble in the final period. The plan paid well as Netjets managed to escape the man to man defense of Tetra Pak in the dying seconds. Valeros led Netjets Middle East with 28 points and was adjudged as the Titan best player of the game while JR Viesca and Manzun scored 15 points apiece for Tetra Pak.
This tournament is principally sponsored by Titan–Al Hussaini & Yahya Investment Group with co-sponsors Giordano Fashions, ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, RJM Cargo and Al Haddaf Sports Wear.
V-Kool beat Nesma Recycle 106-96. It was a high scoring game with both teams showing excellent offense in the whole game. V-Kool played its patented run and gun offense well. Nesma Recycle played its offense wisely. V-Kool changed the plan in the final two minutes. It applied man to man defense to defuse the offense of Nesma Recycle. Carino chipped in 30 for Nesma Recycle.
