Haq, has took charge as new Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia last January. He is a career diplomat with a fine experience of 29 years in service and is known as an expert on Middle East. Prominent Saudi businessman Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Muqrin Abu Faris was the honorary guest of the occasion. He was warmly welcomed by the Pakistanis upon his arrival. Sheikh Saeed, a prominent businessman and president national peace committee for interfaith harmony Riyadh, was the host. Saeed, is also serving as a vice president Riyadh region for Pakistani ruling party PML-N. The reception was attended by a select gathering of Pakistani community members, embassy officials and businessmen. Waqar Naseem Wamiq conducted the reception proceedings, Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Bajwa recited the verses of Holy Qur'an and presented the translation of the recited verses. Haq said, “I am thankful to the hosts and the guests for this memorable reception and also the people who have gathered here despite the severe weather condition we are facing today in Riyadh because of a heavy dust storm.” Haq shared his memories as an envoy in various destinations and he evoked laughter from the audience when he shared with all some intricate and hilarious moments in his tenure. Noted poet Javid Akhtar Javid presented few couplets of his beautiful poetry and drew loud applause from the audience. Co-host Saeed Chaudhary thanked the distinguished guests for gracing the occasion in his vote of thanks especially the chief guest Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq and the guest of honor Saudi businessman Abu Faris. At the end of a short and simple ceremony, the guests were served with a sumptuous dinner.
