Faiz Al-Najdi Saudi Gazette RIYADH — "Halqa Ahbab-e-Fikr-O-Fun, a Riyadh based Literary Forum, hosted an iftar/dinner reception for the community leaders during this past weekend. Literary Forum President Poet/Writer Javed Akhter Javed welcomed the guests mentioned, saying it was an honor for him to be among prominent Pakistani community leaders here. "Recently Saeed Jutt got elected as the President of PML-N and Muhammad Asghar Qureshi got elected as President of Pakistan Investors Forum. "We also have amongst us Choudhry Nazir Jutt, the former member of Pakistan National Assembly and an accomplished businessman in Riyadh. "We also have a young Pakistani investor, Choudhry Mumtaz Hussain, with us. This iftar/dinner reception is in fact to honor all of them," said Javed. Speaking on the occasion Muhammad Asghar Qureshi said that political stability in Pakistan would allow Pakistani investors to return and invest in Pakistan. "After all we have to finally return back to our country and we must start thinking from now to invest in there as new rules and regulations of SAGIA (Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority) in Saudi Arabia would make it much more difficult for small investors to operate in Saudi Arabia," Qureshi said. Jutt thanked Javed for honoring and others for extending him with their support by electing him the President of PML-N. Jutt said that for him Pakistan always came first. "My first and foremost mission is to serve the Pakistani community in Riyadh irrespective of their association and belonging." "I have remained MNA for 10 years and I have always worked for the best interest of Pakistan," he said, adding that his support will always be there with those who want to work for the upliftment of the Pakistan and its people. Commenting on the current business scenario in the Kingdom, he said that the situation is currently not favorable for small investors. "New rules and regulations are going to stymie small contractors and very soon all of them will be out of business," Jutt said. He however informed that there is a good scope of investment in industrial fields and those who want to invest in industries can safely do so as it looks promising for at least next 15 to 20 years. Javed also entertained the audience with some of his selected poetry in both Urdu and Punjabi. Prof. Dr. Mahmud Bajwa made prayers for peace and stability in Pakistan.
