JEDDAH — The past weeks of hostilities underscored the superb performances of three teams that notably hit spotlights by winning the most coveted Team of the Week honors on the aggressive matches that best benefitted Lance & 3rdy as this Ric Reformado-captained and Evelyn Santoc-managed team grabbed the yellow jersey in the seventh week of the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League 16th meet at the Bowling City here. Lance & 3rdy totaled 3,666 with Igna Salgado, Reformado and Macelo Manalo scoring 654, 638 and 628 points to out-do Edison Arena 616, Ruel Perez 607 and Nestor Sanosa 592 of Shawly Bowlers. Winning game 1 at 1,226-1,128, Lance & 3rdy got harmed by Shawly Bowlers 1,191-1,166 in game 2. Seeing its rival's capability to beat it, Lance bettered its output to 1,274 to down Shawly (1,164) and be the best-aggregate team with Edris Mangoda, Ding dela Rosa and Santoc combining for 1,745 supports. These angles of supremacy satisfied Shawly with 4 points on 3,483 including the 1,668 totals of Sally Sanosa, Cloyd Opena and Ed Sardina. Bowlers of the Week were Andy Yumena, who bested male bowlers with 691 in leading Extreme 1:11 against Hal Falcons with games of 214, 254 and 219, and Shirley Sagmit who guided the latter into better output (3,582-3,564) with her 671 from sets of 263, 216 and 192. Seemingly one of the underdogs, D' Lufs Strikers displayed authority when they defeated Rock N Roll (3,594-3,458) in the 6th week with Robert de Guzman leading the binge with his Bowler of the Week-winning handicap series of 669. The match should have been a clean sweep for D' Lufs, but RNR managed to save the endgame for 16-4 submission. Team captain Cesar Pagtalunan thanked Richard Antonio, Farida de Guzman, Ed Cordova, Grace Funtillon and Yasser Hokbi for their exemplary efforts. Ruben Grino with 248 caused most of Rock N Roll's last-game salvage. Evelyn Santoc shared limelight by garnering the lady Bowler of the Week with her 631 leadership of Lance & 3rdy in their 18-2 victory over Al-Murjanah Bowlers. This success of Lance & 3rdy remarkably gave this Reformado-skippered team the front-seat in the overall team standings with computed points of 184.5. BCT Mongoose secured prominence when team captain Emil Payongayong, who submitted the second best individual output at 676 this week, orchestrated a 3,613-3,533 triumph over league-leader Lance & 3rdy. Albeit the latter won in points at 11-9, BCT won the 7th week Team of the Week honor on the solid support of Ryan Conde (629), Jimmy Aragones (615), Nezar Alhamwi (581), Jun Pingan (576) and Eloisa Fernandez (536). Nevertheless Lance & 3rdy sustain league supremacy with computed points of 218.5, followed by BCT with 200, Micah's Pride with 191 and defending champion Ekis-7 with 188. Ekis entered the top four when it beat Extreme 1:11 at 14-6 with Zaldy Bacero who saved a pin at 677 over Payongayong for the male Bowler of the Week honor. Mariz Resano collected her second lady Bowler of the Week honor with her 662 leadership of Fine Boys, which won 13-7 over Rock N Roll.
