THH organizes 'Shaam E Sukhan'

RIYADH — Learning Urdu language is necessary and important to understand and enjoy the real treasure of Urdu poetry.
Tanzeem Hum Hindustani (THH), a social and cultural organization of Indian expatriate community in Riyadh and Jeddah, organized "Shaam E Sukhan" to release the Urdu poetry collection of Abdul Wahab Sukhan.
Mohammed Quaiser, President of the Tanzeem Hum Hindustani, presided over the gathering while Dr. Hifzur Rahman, second Secretary, Indian Embassy in Riyadh was the chief guest.
On this occasion, THH and the Indian community here paid rich tribute to poet Dr. Kaleem Ajiz who passed away weeks before in India.
Hifzur Rahman released "Nai Ruth Ka Safar," a poetry collection of an Indian poet in Urdu and distributed the copies among the prominent members of the community and journalists.
Hifzur Rahman congratulated poet Sukhan upon the release of his first book. He said now a days very few people are left to understand the Urdu language. Urdu has a large treasure of literature and Islamic history. He appreciated the poet for using simple language which helps everybody understand his poetry.
Speaking at the function Mir Liaquat Ali Hashmi, general secretary THH, welcomed and thanked the guests, poets and audience.
The function began with the recitation of a few verses from the Qu'ran; Nashid was presented by Anzar Hyderabadi while Abid Aqeel introduced the poet Sukhan to guests.
Mohammed Quaiser, president of THH, thanked chief guest Hifzur Rahman, for accepting his invitation.
He said: "THH always honor and appreciate the writers and authors. This is the third author we are honoring."
Akthar ul Islam Nadvi also spoke on the occasion.
Mir Liaquat Ali Hashmi conducted the mushaira. In addition to Sukhan and Aliuddin Gohar, a guest poet from Hyderabad, several renowned poets including Ayub Tishna, Saleem baig Saleem, Sabir Warsi, Zafar Mahmood, Masiuddin Deccani, Javid Akthar Javid, Naseem Ahmed Wameq, Izharul haq Izhar and Tahir Bilal presented their poetry. — SG
