Dr. Khalid al fuhaid, Deputy Minister Of Agriculture, Saudi Arabia, inaugurates Lulu ‘Saudi Agro-Fresh Festival 2015' at Lulu Khurais Road Exit 30 on February 8. Beside him are Lulu officials Bashar Naser Al Basher, head of administration department; Allewi Al Kamshe, HR manager; Abdullah Al Enaizy, head of public relations dept.; Eid Al Enaizy, head of security; Shehim Mohamed Unni, regional director Middle East's biggest retailer Lulu Hypermarket – Saudi Arabia's one week campaign Saudi Agro Fresh Fest “From Our Land” that opened on Feb. 18 in their four outlets located in Riyadh and Al-Khobar is drawing huge patronage. Being held in association with the Ministry of Agriculture, the event is offering a wide range of locally grown fruits and vegetables on an amazing display at affordable prices. Lulu outlets exhibit more than 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables which are produced in different parts of Saudi Arabia. Al Kharj, Al Quassim, Hail. Jizan, Qatif and Al Ahsa are the places from where Lulu procured a major part of its local fruits and vegetables. Last year Lulu procured around 75 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits, 2,500 tons of Saudi produced onion and potato are procured annually for Lulu Saudi Arabia. As part of this event, all Lulu outlets display a video documentary produced by agricultural ministry on the growth and development of the agricultural sector in the Kingdom. Also all Lulu outlets are decorated with pictures of traditional agricultural equipment and other icons related to agricultural sector. During this fest, local farms and nurseries exhibit their plants in Lulu outlets. Lulu Meat department will provides attractive prices and special offers on locally produced camel, lamb, poultry meats and other meat-related products. Lulu's world-renowned delicatessen department provides attractive offers on Saudi-produced cheese varieties. Administration Manager Basher Al Naser said “all the nationalities residing in the Kingdom should make maximum use of this Fest as locally produced fruits and vegetables are economically available to our customers.” He added that the Ministry of Agriculture expressed its appreciation to Lulu Hypermarket for organizing such a festival in a grand way that will definitely support local farms and also the local economy. The inaugural ceremony was held at in Lulu Hypermarket Exit-30 Khurais Road by Dr. Khalid Al Fuhaid, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Saudi Arabia. The same event was inaugurated in Al-Khobar outlet by Thariq Al Mulhim, Director of Agricultural extension Department, Eastern Province. — SG
