RIYADH — The Special Criminal Court in Riyadh on Thursday acquitted a Syrian national of speaking against Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Saudi state, declaring his support for the terrorist organization Islamic State and posting tweets in support of the group. The court issued a verdict against a Saudi man for inciting people against the ruler and disobeying him by travelling to Syria with the purpose of joining the civil war currently under way in the country. The court sentenced him to two years in prison and a fine of SR3,000 for losing his passport.
