RIYADH — A total of SR10,540 was raised by Easy Taxi, the global taxi e-hailing service, for Zahra Breast Cancer Association. The final amount was announced during a closing ceremony hosted by the charity's chairwoman Princess Haifa Bint Faisal Bin Turki that brought its “Protect Yourself By Yourself” campaign to a close on Dec. 22. Easy Taxi offered members of the Zahra Breast Cancer Association free rides in support of their mission to educate the public on this disease. The company also handed out 2,000 campaign booklets to passengers that highlighted the cause of breast cancer and the process of detection and treatment. The company mobilized a donation drive where it donated SR10 to the charity for each new customer that signed up to their services during the campaign. “One of the main goals of Easy Taxi is to provide women in KSA with a safe and reliable transportation service and partnering with the association helped the company go the extra mile when it came to customer service,” said Mahmoud Fouz, CEO of Easy Taxi Middle East. Despite being the most common cancer in women, breast cancer can be cured if detected early. The Zahra Breast Cancer Foundation combats cancer in Saudi Arabia by focusing on education, training, early detection, research and patient support.
