RIYADH — The 13th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from Jan. 7-9 2015. A large number of delegates from across the world are expected to attend the three-day event. PBD 2015 would be celebrated in a grand way as the year 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the return of the greatest ‘Pravasi' of the all, Mahatma Gandhi, from South Africa. All Indian nationals living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including OCI/PIOs and working in different fields viz academia, business, politics, government, media, and civil society among other fields are welcome to participate in the Convention. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated on 9th January every year to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India. January 9 was chosen as the day to celebrate this occasion since it was on this day in 1915 that Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest Pravasi, returned to India from South Africa, led India's freedom struggle and changed the lives of Indians forever. — SG
