MCH storms into SCC Premier final

JEDDAH — Tariq Mehmood helped My Care Hala (MCH) beat Crown Steel by 4 wickets and book a berth in the final of the SCC Premier Cup here recently. The second semifinal will be played Friday between AOT and Dopco Stars. The tournament is being held under the aegis of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
Six matches also took place in the MoneyGram Morning Tournament. In the first semifinal, Crown Steel, batting first, produced 193-9 with Kashif making 82 in 43 balls studded with 9 fours and 4 sixes. Abid Naseem hit 40 and Abu Huraira 39 not out off 12 balls after they were 89-4. Tariq Mehmood took 3-36, Jameel 2-23 and a scalp each went to Amjed and Iftikhar.
My Care Hala was home 194 for 6 with 3 balls to spare. Tariq Mehmood hit 67 off 44 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours. Abdulmajeed blasted 47 as the two added 78 runs for the second wicket after the early loss of prolific Kashif. Mohammed Amjed remained unbeaten on 40 off 18 balls despite a mini scare of 4 wkts going down in a space of 21 runs. Shoaib Ali grabbed 3-48 and Abuhuraira one.
MoneyGram Morning
New Young Stars beat Tata Motors by 45 runs. New Young Stars piled up 180 for 5 through Rafaqat (61 in 39 balls), Amir (31) and Bilal (46). Sayed took 2 wickets. Tata Motors, in reply, was restricted to 135 for 5 as Noor made 36 and Ashwaq 28. Maqsood bagged 2 wickets.
QRCC humbled Mercedes Benz by 5 wickets. Mercedes Benz posted 145 for 6 with Ilyas making 51 off 41 balls, Saif 34 and Jibran 21. Abdulrauf and Ashar claimed 2 wickets each. QRCC successfully chased 146 for 5 in 102 balls as Naseer made 36, Saleem 20, Sadiq Memon 21 and Usman unbeaten 20. Furqan grabbed 3-26.
Stallions thrashed Asian Strikers by 6 wickets. Asian Strikers posted 127 for 7 with Akbar scoring 21, Tayab 22 and Amir 23. Osama scalped 2 wickets. Stallions, in reply, reached the target of 129 for 4 in 95 balls through Arsalan (29), Abdulrafay (27), Abdulraheem (26) and Zakir (21). Aleem had 2 wickets.
The Sadafco vs. ADI-XI match ended in a tie after ADI, requiring 6 runs, could make only 5. Sadafco managed 179 for 9 with Zubair making 38 and Kazi 41. Azeem grabbed 6 for 36 and Danial 2. ADI reached 179 for 7 thanks to an overthrow resulting in 4 runs on the last ball as Mehfooz blasted 40 and Faisal 26. Munir and Iqbal Patel claimed 2 wickets each.
Brasa De Brazil and Royal Brothers won their respective matches through walkovers.
