It is a matter of great sorrow for me and for all Indians to learn from the article "Bury them or send them home" by Mahmoud Ahmad (Dec. 8) that the body of Ali Hussain is languishing in a mortuary in Al-Ahsa for the last five months. Being an Indian, I am very thankful to Mahmoud Ahmad who raised his voice for my late Indian brother. I urge Hussain's sponsor as well as the Saudi and Indian governments to take action on this concern immediately. I am with the heart-striken family of Ali Hussain. Dr Noorul Hasan Mau, India This is one of the pitiable plights of the expatriates in Saudi Arabia. It is high time to eradicate the sponsorship system. The Saudi government should be the sponsor of all expats.
Thanks brother Mahmoud for highlighting the case of Ali Hussain. May the Almighty Allah give the deceased's relatives the strength and patience to wait for the dead body's long-delayed repatriation because of the irresponsibility of the sponsor. Sohail, Online response Thank you sir for always highlighting the difficult situations of expatriates in Saudi Arabia through your column in Saudi Gazette. May I suggest that your well-written articles are also always published in the Arabic press so that they may reach the real-targeted audience. Once again thank you and the Saudi Gazette for voicing the concerns of the expatriate communities in the Kingdom. Mohd. J, Online response
