JEDDAH — The holy city of Makkah received heavy rains on Friday, the Saudi Press Agency reported. It said moderate rains fell in other parts of the country, including Al-Jouf province in the north. The Center for Climate Change Research at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah said the Makkah region is likely to receive medium to heavy rains on Saturday and Sunday. Mansour Atiyyah Al-Mazroui, director of the center and head of the meteorology department at the university, said the Kingdom is expected to witness unstable weather conditions in the coming days, especially in Makkah province and the western coastal regions.
