Saudi Gazette report
JEDDAH – The man who stabbed his young wife and her elderly father to death Saturday at Quaizah neighborhood, said he killed them due to family disputes, according to Makkah Police spokesman Lt. Col. Ati Al-Qurashi.
The man, who chased his wife in the street and stabbed her in front of several people, has been referred by police investigators to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution.
Eyewitnesses told the police that when they saw the man chasing his frightened wife, they thought it was a movie scene being filmed, and did not offer help to the victim. They also said the murderer stood motionless in complete shock near his wife's dead body until the police arrived at the scene and arrested him.
Meanwhile, Madinah Police have arrested one of the young men who beat up a Sudanese employee a few months ago at his workplace and in front of his disabled child, according to acting spokesman Lt. Col. Sami Aljohani.
“We're still searching for the other three assailants who appeared on the video attacking the Sudanese man, kicking him in the stomach, and throwing him on the ground. Investigations are ongoing,” Lt. Col. Aljohani said.
The police launched an extensive search for the assailants immediately after the video circulated on social media websites. The victim, who suffered abrasions and several injuries, told police at the time that he had an argument with the assailants which led to them beating him up and severely hurting him.
Many people in Madinah expressed extreme shock and anger after viewing the video of the four men harshly beating up the Sudanese man.
