MAKKAH — Police have denied reports on social media networks that three pilgrims died during the Kaaba washing ceremony Thursday morning. Spokesman for Makkah police Lt. Col. Atti Al-Qurash said, “There is no truth in these reports. There was a minor stampede when people rushed to watch the washing ceremony. Four people were slightly hurt and three of them were treated on the spot.” He said the fourth was taken to a local hospital by a Red Crescent ambulance where he was given treatment and discharged. — Badea Abu Al-Naja
