TABUK/SABYA: Eight Saudis were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision on the Al-Qurryat-Tabuk Road Saturday. A driver and three women were there in the first car and six people in the second car. A Civil Defense rescue team at Al-Qoulaiba rushed to the scene and tried to rescue the trapped passengers in the two cars by cutting through their cabins. A Red Crescent paramedic team arrived at the scene and moved the dead and the injured people to King Khaled Hospital. Col. Muhammad Ali Al-Najar, Director of Traffic in Tabuk, said the incident occurred when the first car moved into the incorrect traffic lane. In another accident, a bus carrying pilgrims on the Sabya-Bish Road veered off the road and overturned twice, injuring eight pilgrims returning from Makkah. All the injured were rushed to Sabya General Hospital. The passengers sustained light injuries and all of them were discharged after getting first aid.
