JEDDAH — To honor Amir Sultan, the National Award winner of Tamil Film Industry, Jeddah Tamil Sangam (JTS) organized a family get-together at a local restaurant recently. Sultan, who made the history in the Tamil Film world with his film in 2007 with his directorial touch, was the chief guest of the function accompanied by Snehan, a famous Tamil lyricist who has 2,500 songs to his credit. A number of JTS families were joined together along with many prominent community members at the event. The program was compered by Ganesh, who welcomed the audience, followed by a brief speech by Snehan who shed light on his life and his journey of success. Mohammed Siraj introduced Sultan, the director of Film “Paruthiveeran," which bagged Netpac Award at Berlin international Film Festival, 3 Cinema journalists Association awards, 6 Film fare awards, 2 National film awards, 2 Tamil Nadu state film awards and 4 Vijay awards. Currently, Sultan is in the production of a Tamil film with his favorite village subject. He shared his experiences with the audience in an emotional and touching way. Jeddah Tamil Sangam members Rafia and Javid honored Snehan and Sultan by giving plaques as a token of their love and affection. The vote of thanks was proposed by Vijayan.
