Jeddah Tamil Sangam organized a get-together to bid farewell to Indian Consul General Dr. Ausaf Sayeed and Consul Haj Dr. Suhail Ijaz Khan on Thursday. Consul General in his speech praised various contributions done by the Tamil community members in various social and welfare fronts specially in helping Indian pilgrims. Prof. Abdul Samad, a popular TV anchor and well-known Tamil orator, spoke of his concern on fading Tamil literature amongst the younger generations particularly among children living abroad. He pleaded the audience to preserve the importance of the Tamil language, one of the most ancient languages. Cultural shows were staged by students of IISJ on the occasion. Sri Lankan Consul General Abdul Lateef Lafeer, officials of the Indian Consulate and a large number of Tamil community members attended the event. Abdul Malik President of the association coordinated the event. Dr. Imamuddin welcomed the gathering and Akbar Batcha proposed a vote of thanks. Parvez and Shehnaz Siraj compeered the event.
