JEDDAH — Khak-e-Taiba Trust (KTT), a community welfare organization, organized a Haj seminar to guide pilgrims on the correct method and approach of performing various pilgrimage rituals Monday here. A large number of Indian and Pakistani expatriates, who intend to perform Haj, attended the event where Islamic scholars Al-Sheikh Mohammed Omer Nadwi and Qari Abbas Ali Khot gave a presentation on Haj rituals. The speakers strongly emphasized the obligation to perform Haj, which is clearly mentioned in the Holy Qur'an as the fifth pillar of Islam. Khot, senior lecturer at the Islamic Centre in Jeddah, briefly described the various Haj rituals, possible complications and their solutions according to the Qur'an and Islamic way of life according to the Prophet Muhammad. Chief guest Tarek Abdul Hameed Mishkhas, editor-in-chief of Urdu News and Malayalam News, praised the efforts of KTT. He said: “Our religion teaches us that we all should help each other and stand together in any way. "What we are doing to guide and help others for the sake of Allah will be rewarded by Allah." Nadwi, imam of Jama Masjid Sulaimania, Jeddah, underlined the value of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjaa, which he said provided Muslims the opportunity to receive special rewards for their good deeds during the first 10 days. He said: “These 10 days are very important and we should think very carefully about our actions, generosity and kindness. “The best thing among all is “taqwa,”or a fear of Allah, and these days are a good chance to wash away our sins through our good deeds.” The audience also learned from the speakers about what not to do during this sacred period and the prayers and supplications they should recite. There was a question and answer session afterward. Earlier welcoming the audience, Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, the trust's general secretary, said: “KTT always remains at the forefront for propagating Islamic and educational causes through seminars and competitions but we should highlight that any event we organize is not financially dependent on KTT's accounts; it is a shared contribution from all KTT members and well wishers. “We only aim to convey Allah's message to all Muslim brothers and sisters and we aim to help our community and continue the road map developed by the organization.” Aleem Khan Falaki anchored the program and highlighted the causes and aims of the program and also introduced the speakers. The general secretary of the trust's youth wing Azmat Ali Imran gave the vote of thanks. A bouquet was presented to Mishkas by overseas trustee/patron Shameem Kausar and a plaque presented to him by Treasurer Syed Rafath Shah. Another bouquet was presented to Nadwi by the trust's President Aijaz Ahmed Khan and a plaque by computer center advisor Mohd Abdul Hakeem. Vice President Mohd Abbas Khan presented a bouquet to Khot, who received a plaque by Imran. The program started with a Qur'an recitation by Qari Siraj Alikhan Lodhi followed by a naat by Syed Mohiuddin.
