JEDDAH — To celebrate the favorable results in the recently concluded general elections for All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), and to honor one of the visiting dignitaries and a well-wisher of AMIM from Hyderabad Deccan, Syed Khaja Moinuddin, many prominent community members gathered at a local restaurant here recently. Moinuddin, who is here to perform Umrah along with members of Bazm-e-Ittehad Jeddah (BIJ), the socio-cultural wing of AIMIM and other social organizations here joined hands to commemorate the victory. Moinuddin said: “I am very happy to see the work done by AIMIM here and in India especially in educational field and I hope it will continue same in the future. Victory does not lie in the election results...our true victory is influenced by our unity, our achievements and progress in educational and other fields." He thanked all members for attending the occasion to honor him. Speaking on the occasion, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, trustee of Khak-e-Taiba Trust (KTT) who was on a month-long trip to Hyderabad for electioneering the campaign, said: “Every wave either it's Indira Gandhi in the past or to the present Modi, they all get devastated after reaching Hyderabad because of the unity and well coordination among Muslims.” Khan added: “Many high-flying national political outfits suffered big jolts, but AIMIM not only retained its seats but finished second on three other seats, and was able to gather high percentage of votes in the new segments of the state. This will certainly pave the way for the party to have a comfortable win in the forthcoming civic polls.” Dr. Syed Ali Mahmood, the chief patron of BIJ, tried to generate a sense of optimism among the audience. He said: “We pray to Allah for giving the spiritual power and strength to our Owaisi brothers to fight against these oppressors. At the same time we should all interrogate ourselves as to whether we are following the true Islamic principles strictly or not, since difficulties do arise from our own virtues.” Earlier, the gathering commenced with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur'an by Abbas Khan followed by a heart touching Naat by Mohiuddin Qadri. Ameenuddin Ansari anchored the program, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Syeda Khaja Viqaruddin.
