Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — To shed light on the political scenarios of India, especially the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, “Bazm-e-Ittehad Jeddah (BIJ)” hosted a current affairs program at a local restaurant here recently. Many Indian community members and various socio-organizations, such as Khak-e-Taiba Trust, Twin-Cities Youth Welfare Association, Socio-reforms Society of India, Urdu Academy Jeddah, Deccan NRIs, Islamic Circle of M.E., Noor Educational Society, Urdu Gulban and others attended the meeting to discuss about the developments taking place in the India, which is witnessing one of its high-anticipated and much hyped elections. Speaking on the occasion, Ahmeduddin Owaisi, president of Bazm-e-Ittehad - Saudi Arabia, said that Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) not only represents the Muslims of Hyderabad but also includes members from various religious faiths, and it is a voice of the people who are misled by the so-called secular groups, which is proof of AIMIM as non-communal political party of India. Reminiscing disturbing incidents in the aftermath of the county's partition, he said: "Those were the difficult times and a period of untold misery for Muslims, no one dared to redress the grievances, fear loomed large in the minds of the minorities but Majlis spearheaded the movement and salvaged the pride of the community with its immense leadership quality." Chief Patron of Bazm, Syed Ali Mahmood, highlighted the many activities carried out by the Majlis in India, including setting up of various educational hubs, health care services and banking institutions for the benefit of the community. He further said: "AIMIM is providing party ticket to non-Muslims during these elections and it's prove that it is one of the most secular parties in the country that is engaged in protecting the country's constitution.” In his welcome address, Vice President Mohammad Ubaidur Rehman emphasized the need to have transparent voting in favor of Majlis party. He said many voices are being raised from the various quarters for a change in leadership. “Yes we do believe in change and revolutions, but prove the alternates to justify the claims." Joint-Secretary Syed Khaja Viqaruddin stressed the need to motivate relatives and friends of the members of the community back home in India by propagating them with the message to cast their votes for the Majlis party. Circulars and printed pamphlets are also being distributed on a large scale. "We have to not only to motivate our community but offer special prays to Allah SWT in both holy places too." Yousuf Amjad, a spokesperson, had appealed to the audience to motivate their relatives and friends irrespective cast and create to cast their votes in favor of AIMIM. Others who spoke on the occasion were the adviser, Mazher Ali Baig and Yousufuddin Amjad, spokesperson of BIJ. Earlier the program commenced with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur'an by Mohd.Noor and a Naat was recited by Yousufuddin Amjad, while Abdul Qayyum anchored and proposed the vote of thanks.
