I am writing with regard to the article "Projecting Saudi Arabia's image: A few suggestions" (Apr. 25). The policies regarding the treatment of skilled expatriates and their children need to change, otherwise how else does the government plan on building a "knowledge-based" economy? It is depressing to see the very people who used their skills and knowledge to improve the system now worrying about their retirement. If they are legal and have enough resources, why can they not retire here and continue to live in the Kingdom? Expat, Online response II. The author makes some very valid points. My impression has always been that Saudi Arabia does not really care about the image it projects to the rest of the world, and this is a huge problem. Until the country and the government care about the Kingdom's image, nothing will really change. Susie of Arabia, Online response
